Who is Salon Morpheus?????

Salon Morpheus opened its doors for Business on April 20, 2009, after being told that Fran Brown Professional Salon had sold to Marinello School of Beauty. Many of the Stylist's at Salon Morpheus moved over from Fran Brown Professional Salon.

Salon Morpheus had seven weeks to come together. It's hard to believe we are approaching our third year of being in business. What a RIDE!

We were the Spread the Love Salon for the State of Utah for 2011.

One of our Stylist's Brooke P. Was a Semi-Finalist for the Spread the Love Program for 2012. The Spread the Love program takes 6 recent beauty school students to tour the country and attend different hair shows, go to different beauty schools and many different salons. Last May we were able to have Kayla and Lakeisha come to our salon and perform makeovers on a few of our clients.

In participating in the Spread the Love program we have been able to attend different haircutting, color, and other techniques classes. We have been able to meet different people who are also participating in the Spread the Love program.

“I have worked at Salon Morpheus for over a year now. It has been a great year and I wish I knew where the time went. Working for the owner Marci has been truly a pleasure. She isn’t just a boss to me. She’s like my second mom. She looks after me and wants to see me succeed. It’s nice to know that she wants what’s best for me. Marci was the person who suggested to me that I apply for the Spread the Love Program 2012. I was hesitant at first because I wasn’t sure if I would appeal to them. But with her support and a little push I applied and made it to top 50 in the Country! I am so grateful for her support in my career it really has made a difference in building my clientele.” –Brooke P.

We have 15 stylists at our Salon. We are one big family, with each stylist's bringing their own creative unique characteristics to the Salon. Our experience levels all vary from 40 plus years to fresh out of beauty school. Each day we all learn something new together. It's nice to know that at the end of the day we have each other’s backs and are willing to bounce ideas off of each other.

“When I first walked into Salon Morpheus, I felt very welcomed and at ease. It was such an inviting atmosphere! That presented itself so well I wanted Salon Morpheus to be MY salon. I have only been here 2 months but all of the stylist’s are so welcoming. It’s hard to believe it’s only been 2 months!” –Nicole.

We are very excited to see what Spread the Love 2012 has to bring. We look forward to all the new friends and new memories we will be making! It’s been such an amazing  journey so far we are anxious to see what 2012 has in store for us!

Our Receptionist, Taylee!

For this week we would like you to get to know our receptionist Taylee!

Taylee has been receptioning at Salon Morpheus since June of 2011. She attends Layton High School where she is a Jr.

Taylee's favorite hair product is the Cooling Mint Shampoo by Biolage. She loves the tingly sensation it brings to her scalp during the winter months.

One of Taylee's best charateristics is that she loves to laugh! She has a very contagious laugh and has us always laughing with her at the things she says and does. Some of Taylee's hobbies are: singing, running, playing soccer, playing the piano. She loves to spend time outside is the sunshine.

If Taylee had to give up one materialistic item it would be the computer because she spends way too much time on it. Or she would give up junk food. She loves it too much!

If you were to pick Taylee from a crayon box she says she would be the bright blue crayon or the lime green one or even the maroon!

Growing up Taylee's Celebrity Crush was Chad Micheal Murray.

Taylee's favorite home cooked meal would be Mashed Potatoes and a nice steak!

If Taylee had to be stranded on an island she would want to be stranded with Ryan Reynolds or Taylor Lautner. Or even her sister because they would laugh a lot.

If she could go anywhere in the world without money being an issue she would want to go to France and see Paris.

Featured Stylist: Nicole!

For the next few weeks we will be featuring a Salon Morpheus employee, to help you get to know our staff!

This week we are spotlighting our newest stylist, Nicole.

Nicole started working for Salon Morpheus in December of 2011. She attended Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design. One of her favorite memories from beauty school was completeing her last 100 hours of school, You need 2000 hours in the state of Utah.

Nicole wanted to become a hairstylist because she has always loved the idea of making others feel beautiful and making money for it.

If you were to ask Nicole what hair product she can't live with out she would tell you Sebastin Taming Elixer. Without it her hair would be a lion's mane!

Nicoles best charateristic is that she is able to accept anyone for who they are. This is a great quality to have.

Some of Nicole's hobbies include: Reading, her favorite book is The Black Garden by Joe Bright. She is also obsessed with music. Klove Radio is her favorite radio station.

If Nicole had to give up one materialistic item she would give up her Facebook addiction. She doesn't know why she has such an addiction to it she's not a big fan of Facebook.

If Nicole were a crayon from a box she the color she would be is Macaroni and Cheese. Orange is her favorite color.

 Her celebrity crush growing up was Antanio Banderas.

 Nicole's favorite home cooked meal is her mom's manicotti. There are just so many good carbs for her.

If Nicole were to be stranded on an island with one person she chose Bear Gryll's. She loves her family and fiance Karl but he would be able to help her survive!

If she could go anywhere in the world with money not being an issue she would go to Greece. She loves the history of the buildings and the philosophy there.

For those of you who know me I am a product junkie! I love it! I just hate when I know there is too much in my hair or someone else's. I seem to go through phases of where I like one product vs. another. Right now the product that I love is......

It's a 10 Miracle Leave in plus Keratin!

I love the It's a 10 line because it does 10 different things! So you don't have to use so many products!

Which for me is very affordable! I only have to buy one product vs. 3 or 4.

I have seen a lot of clients who have VERY damaged hair and they always ask me what product would help them without spending a lot.

And everytime I say this product. For really damaged hair though I would reccommend this product with a good repairing shampoo and conditioner.

I personally use this product and I love the results I have seen with my hair. I do a lot to my hair and knowing that this product will help protect and repair my hair puts my mind at ease!
